Podcast Name Generator and Book Title Generator

Not a list of ideas: names built as positions. Tell it what you want the name to claim, how far it has to travel, and what you never want to be known for. Every name comes back read the way Identity Positioning™ reads a reputation: the position it claims, the Law of Personal Branding it leans on, and the scale it fits. A name you lock in is never generated for anyone else, and it is yours as a gift.

01 About You

Used only for names rooted in a place, which suit a local or regional position.

02 The Position

Identity Positioning™ treats a reputation as a position: something held, measured, and defended. A name is the first claim that position makes. Tell the generator what the name should claim and how far it has to travel, and every result comes back read as a position.

What should the name claim? optional, pick one

A Local Hero name can be rooted in a place. An International Icon name has to read cleanly anywhere, so it favours short, plain names without idioms.

03 The Show
Show format

It changes the names: an interview show leans toward On the Record, a solo show toward Notes and Memo.

04 The Feel
Tone up to two

Color theme up to three

Your own words carry the most weight, and the generator adds their synonyms.

Words that stand out for you

Those words, and the words that travel with them, are kept out.

      Before You Lock It In

Locking removes this exact name from the generator for everyone. It does not register, reserve, or protect it anywhere else, so run these checks first.

Mashman Consulting Group claims no ownership of this name. If you lock it in, it is a gift to you: yours to use, with nothing owed to us.

        How the Generator Works

Your answers become weighted word pools. Words you type count most, then what you want to be known for and its synonyms, then your niche, profession, show format or genre, tone, colors, and animal. Those answers also choose themes from a hand-curated bank of more than three thousand words, so the extra choice still sounds like you. What you do not want to be known for is removed first, along with the words that travel with it. Close to two hundred naming patterns are then filled from those pools. The patterns that fit your format or genre, the position you want to claim, and the scale you are aiming for are favoured, and every candidate is scored for fit, sound, and length before the list is spread across styles. The same answers give the same names, so a result can be found again.

        Names Read as Positions

Identity Positioning™ treats a reputation as a position, and a name is the first claim that position makes. Each result says what it claims (the authority, the guide, the insider, the connector, the contrarian, the storyteller, or the personality), which of The 4 Laws of Personal Branding it leans on (Familiarity, Connection, or Fame and Influence), and how far it can travel on The Hierarchy of Personal Branding, from a name rooted in your town to one plain enough for the International Icon tier. The read describes the name's shape. It does not predict success; the brand behind the name does that.

Before You Commit to a Name

A name you love is only the start. Search it in quotes and read the first two pages. Look up the domain and the handles on the platforms your audience uses. Search the podcast directories or the bookshelf for a match in your category. Ask an AI model what the name suggests to a stranger, and read the answer as a first impression. Search company filings on OpenCorporates and registered trademarks with the USPTO, and talk to an attorney if something close is registered in your category. Lock This In walks you through each check with the searches already filled in.

A Name Is Part of a Personal Brand

A show or a book carries its author's reputation into rooms the author never enters, which is why its name should say what you want to be known for and nothing you do not. That is Seamless Branding, one of the Five Personal Brand Pillars in Identity Positioning™. Once the name is settled, the free Brand Audit scores the brand behind it.

        Name Generator: Common Questions

        Is the Name Generator Free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and there is no limit on how many names you generate. Nothing is sold on the page.

        Does It Use AI?

No. Every name is built by a fixed set of naming patterns and a hand-curated word bank of thousands of words, filled from your own answers and scored for fit, sound, and length. It runs in your browser. The one place AI appears is optional: the checklist suggests asking an AI model for a first impression of a name you like.

What Happens to What I Type?

Nothing leaves your device while you generate. Only if you lock a name in does the site receive the name and the context it was built from (niche, profession, show format or book genre, and tone), never your own name or brand. An email address is sent only if you ask for a copy of the checklist.

What Does Lock This In Do?

It removes that exact name from the generator for everyone, so no one else is ever handed the name you chose. It does not register, reserve, or trademark the name anywhere else. Run the checklist before you commit.

Is the Name Available to Use?

The generator cannot know. It does not check domains, social handles, company filings, or trademarks. The checklist links you to each of those searches for the name you picked, and a registered trademark in your category is a reason to talk to an attorney before you commit.

How Many Names Can It Make?

It depends on your answers. Most answer sets open between several hundred thousand and several million combinations, and a fuller set of answers opens more. Every answer you add, from a word you like to what you do not want to be known for, reshapes them. Each result shows what it was built from.

Who Owns a Name I Lock In?

Not us. Mashman Consulting Group claims no ownership of any name the generator produces. A name you lock in is, in the company's eyes, a gift to you: yours to use, with no license, fee, or credit owed. Because we never own it, we cannot grant exclusive or legal rights in it; registering or protecting it is yours to arrange, which is what the checklist is for.

What Is the Position Read on Each Name?

Identity Positioning™ treats a reputation as a position, so each name is read as one: the position it claims, which of The 4 Laws of Personal Branding it leans on, and how far it can travel on The Hierarchy of Personal Branding. It describes the shape of the name, not its odds. Choose what you want the name to claim, and the scale you are aiming for, to steer the results toward that position.

Why Does the Show Format Matter?

Because a name sets an expectation. An interview show leans toward names like On the Record or The Sit-Down; a solo show toward Notes, Memo, or Letter; a news show toward Brief, Daily, or Wire. The generator favours the patterns that fit how your show actually works.
